Postpartum Care ( Things to keep in mind after delivery)

A lot changes after a baby comes into your life, specially if you are a first time mother.

First few weeks can be very tiresome for a new mother as from feeding every two hours to changing diapers, an infant needs your whole attention and care.
In order to make this time a bit relaxing and stress free here I have come up with few points to remember if you are a new mother or mother to be :

1.  Get enough sleep :
Your Infant needs to be fed  after every two hours as they rely only on your milk or formula milk( if not breast feeding).
The best way to save those pretty eyes of tours from being worn out, sleep when your child sleeps. That way you are assuring yourself to get rest.

2. Never Hesitate To Ask for help : With upgradation of relationships comes more responsibilities so its very important to take help from your elders or keep a house help( if feasible and reliable) . This is the time when alongwith your child you have to keep up with the family, husband and other household chores, though your body needs rest as it is weak at this moment. So it is best to seek help from others and be gentle with yourself.

3. Eat Healthy : It is important to feed yourself with healthy stuff so that you don't regret later. You must take a lot of protein rich diet, dry fruits. Fruits is a must include in diet of a mother and intake of fluids ( be it water, coconut water or fresh juices at home).
As a breastfeeding mother you must consume good amount of fluids.

4. Exercise :  Each one of us desire to get back tthat pre pregnancy body and shed off this extra weight as soon as possible though practicality is different. You must go slow with exercise. Start with a normal walk and increase it day by day or after some time when you are comfortable with going gym or doing heavy exercise.

5. Me Time : Give some time to yourself i.e. do things that makes you happy and at peace. Self love is always important. Do get ready, wear new clothes, get a fancy hair cut to make yourself happy, believe me it will release you from lot of anxiety or questions rising inside you daily about yourself.

I hope these things will be of some help to you during the starting days of your postpartum.
